We are seeking a highly motivated, Malta-based Marketing Officer to join Payhound. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing digital creative across our channels, with graphic design, video editing and animation as a core part of the role. This position also includes day to day marketing operations, including coordinating third parties, managing requests, and ensuring deliverables are on brand and ready to publish.
The Marketing Officer will be reporting to the Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Creative delivery and brand consistency
- Develop and design digital content including graphics, images, videos, and motion assets that align with Payhound brand guidelines.
- Produce assets for LinkedIn, paid placements, website sections, landing pages, blog visuals, email banners, event collateral, and sales materials.
- Maintain templates and a reusable asset library to keep output consistent and efficient.
- Prepare exports correctly for each channel, including sizes, formats, compression, and version control.
Video editing, motion design, and animation
- Edit short form and long form video for social and paid media, including cut downs, captions, and multiple aspect ratios.
- Create motion graphics and animations in After Effects to support campaigns, announcements, product explainers, and social content.
- Deliver lightweight motion assets for the web where needed, keeping files suitable for performance.
Performance creative and digital marketing support
- Create and manage creative variations for performance marketing, including multiple versions per concept for testing hooks, layouts, and formats.
- Support concept development with the team, aiming to meet campaign goals and performance targets.
- Optimise creative for different platforms and placements so it remains clear, on brand, and fit for purpose.
- Use AI tools to support creative production when useful, while maintaining quality and brand consistency.
Website, UX and UI support
- Support UX and UI execution in Figma for marketing led website sections and landing pages, using existing components and layouts.
- Coordinate with the website partner on implementation and complete basic QA before pages go live, including responsiveness and visual checks.
- Work with stakeholders across growth, sales, and product to gather requirements and deliver design solutions that support business objectives.
Marketing operations and third party coordination
- Own the marketing requests queue and keep a simple tracker of what is needed, who is doing it, and when it is due.
- Prepare clear briefs for agencies and freelancers, collect requirements, and ensure deliverables return in the right formats, sizes, and versions.
- Coordinate feedback cycles so work moves forward without unnecessary back and forth.
- Quality check external output against brand guidelines and channel requirements before it goes live.
- Handle practical admin including organising files, naming conventions, version control, and keeping shared folders tidy and usable.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, Advertising, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in digital design, either in house or agency side.
- Proven experience as a digital designer, with a portfolio showing static, video, and motion work.
- Strong video editing and motion design skills, including animation creation as part of regular output.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Working knowledge of Figma and a solid understanding of UX and UI basics.
- Experience creating content for digital channels and platforms such as LinkedIn, Google Ads, Meta, Instagram, TikTok, and similar.
- A performance driven mindset and experience producing creative for performance ads.
- Comfort working in a fintech, crypto, or payments environment, with familiarity in EMI or regulated services considered an asset.
- Experience coordinating agencies, freelancers, or external partners and driving delivery to a clear standard.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence following up and managing multiple inputs at once.
- Highly organised and detail orientated, with strong file management and version control habits.
- Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
